The Duggar Family Rules

My sister in-law, Sarah, loves the Duggars.
Yes, they have a ton of kids roaming their house.  But, they have some pretty good parenting ideas.
Like these family rules that Sarah wanted jazzed up for her Christmas gift this year.
Thanks, Duggers, for the tips!

Get yours here.

Magical Pillowcase Gift Tag

My mom is the greatest.  She loves making holidays special.
We spent Thanksgiving weekend at a cabin in the mountains... my favorite place to be.
Upon arrival, each guest had a Christmas pillowcase (made from the sweetest blue and red snowman fabric), along with a sweet poem called the

(if you know where this poem originally came from, please let me know so I can give proper credit)
It was such a nice surprise waiting for us on our beds.

And wouldn't your kids love getting one of these to slumber on?
It's those little touches that build Christmas memories and make this time of year special.

Sweet dreams!

Friday

Monogrammed Stationery

I love all things monogrammed.
Especially on personalized stationery.
Some day, I swear I'll have a wax seal with my monogram on it.

These would be so nice to have waiting for your Thanksgiving guests when they arrive.
Leave the sheets loose and gift them in a box, or make your own notepad using this tutoral.
I know I'd be excited.
Happy Friday!

Day Three - Nautical Decor and Cuddly Crochet

Did you drool over the last Pottery Barn catalog?  I know I did.  This summer they boasted all things nautical.  For good reason, it's fabulous.  Our friend Lizzie creates each starfish by hand.  They are painted heirloom white and glazed with clear varnish.  They make great decorations for our nautical or shabby chic rooms and perfect decorations for weddings and parties!

But wait, there is more.

Okay, I died a little when I found these.  I was shopping for adorable beanie caps for one of my dear friend's little girl.  The best I could find was a cotton cap that was undesirably plain, gross.  At last, Lizzie has answered our hunt for the cutest, cuddly caps you will find!

To Enter:

1.  Visit Living Life Lizzie Style, and pick out your favorites!  Leave a comment with Lizzie's hand crafted items that you just cannot live without!
2.  Become a follower of Sissyprint!

Be sure to leave a way of contacting you in your comment!

The winner of this giveaway will be announced Wednesday, October 5!
GOOD LUCK!

Freebie Friday - Canning Labels

Okay, let's be honest.  I have a slight obsession with glass jars.  I bought like two flats of them last week. Oops.  I have this image in my head that I am going to can peaches, make jams or lemon curd and give them to friends and family.  I am still working on the actual canning part, but I thought I would start by designing some labels.

And really, sometimes, nothing is more darling than organizing by color.  Enjoy!

Couples Road Trip Questions

My husband and I are going on a four day road trip to Durango.
Our first official vacation together, sans kids, in over six years.
We have a nine hour drive ahead of us.

So, I came up with sixty Couples Road Trip Questions to help pass the time.
Some are silly, some are serious, some might embarrass you a little
(like admitting Meet the Kardashians is my guilty pleasure... I know, I know).

I designed them in black so you can get colorful with your paper selections.
But, all have been created to socially reconnect
with your lovuh while out on the open road.
Happy trails to you.

Monday

Quoteable Monday - Bookmarks

In celebration of back to school week, we're switching it up on this
Quotable Monday with bookmarks.

One for you and one for the kids!

I love this quote by Benjamin Franklin.
"An investment in knowledge always pays the best interest."

Knowledge really is a wise investment that will continue to reward you again and again.
Right now, I'm reading The Seven Miracles that Saved America.
It's amazing, such un uplifting and interesting summary of American history.

And what better way to develop a love for learning in your children
than to instill a love for reading and books.  Don't forget a bookmark for them, too!

We are trying a new file hosting company.
Please leave us input on whether or not your prefer this over google docs.

Monogram Recipe Card

One of my favorite gifts from my wedding was a recipe card holder a friend made for me.  I pack that little box around to all our adventures [it even has its very own counter space wherever we go], fill it with all the recipes I acquire, and I think of her each time I use it.  Thinking of a gift that newlyweds will use, appreciate, and not receive in multiples can be quite a challenge!

Personalized recipe cards are a unique gift idea that are sure to be a treasured item for the lovebird's "Happily Ever After."

Popsicle Cozy - gift tag & pattern

I think popsicles are a huge part of summer nostalgia.

When my son was a teething baby, I'd wrap a paper towel
with a rubber band around the ice pop to keep his little fingers from getting cold.

Two kids later and a little experience has helped me make the perfect popsicle cozy.
Believe me, there have been several designs that have been modified and simplified.
There have been pocket cozies, wrap-around cozies, but the sleeve-style cozy is the way to go.

Cut out the sewing pattern from the free printable.
Just fold the top and bottom ends of your fabric under, basting stitch across.
Fold the square of fabric in half, right sides together, basting stitch down the side.
Super easy, super fast.  Only takes a minute or two per cozy.

Use an old dish cloth, terricloth, or snug fleece.
I like the snug fleece or quilters flannel because of the fun prints available for kids!
This pattern was formulated to fit a Pedialyte popsicle, but works great on Otter Pops, too!

What kid wouldn't love getting a cozied ice pop, topped off with a coordinating gift tag!
Make summer special.

Please allow sufficient time for image to upload.
